Hank's Big Boy Room

Back before the bambino arrived, I had a "Before Baby List". On that list were about a gazillion sub-lists, one of which was devoted to creating a big boy room for my big boy Hank. We knew we wanted to transition him into a twin bed and wanted to keep the other furniture to a minimum so that he'd have plenty of room to play.

After pinning 4,000 inspiration photos, I finally came up with a layout and a theme. Balls. Soccer balls, baseballs, footballs, basketballs, etc. My baby is OB-sessed. We found the perfect sheets at our local Home Goods which provided the color scheme.

Bed frame from Goodwill, Ball sheets from Home Goods, White Quilt from Ikea, Chevron quilt handmade from B's grandmother, pillows, draperies and all artwork by yours truly.

Took forever to get just the right shade of grue (grey + blue) on that ball art.

Love this banner that our church in GA gave us when we had Hank baptized.

Found this dresser at a thrift store in Hoover and had my awesome MIL paint it this gorgeous navy color. Is it sad I want to steal it for our living room?

So, in closing...balls.

Hudson Love

The besties made the trek over this past weekend to see us and the Hankster one last time before they become a family of four (and are effectively housebound for a few weeks).   It was just the best weekend...girl time with pedicures, good food, plenty of "Cars" watching with Eli and lots of loving on our favorite little family.  I may or may not have needed to be sedated as Barbara (their car) pulled out of the drive.

Totally cute but kind of old picture...I'm guessing Easter of last year?

Anyhoodle, baby Hudson will be making his appearance in just a few short weeks and I promised Abby I'd make him an ABC print to match Eli's.  She has the nursery done in dark wood with primary colors and a large checked navy gingham...pretty much adorable.  Per her request, we kept everything the same as Eli's, just added a nod to big brother:

Love all you Branans; can't wait to love on that new baby!

Bryce

Got an email from an old friend the other day with an ABC art request. She needed a piece for her bestie in navy, burgundy, taupe, and sage green...not really your typical nursery colors.  She gave some additional specifics, including college preferences, last names and interests and voila!  I have to admit it turned out A-dorable.

So glad I could do this for you Torri, thanks so much!!

Haley

My buddy Ashley welcomed her very first niece, Haley, on New Year's Eve.  Haley's mama, Candace, is pretty much the sweetest, funniest gal around and deserves every bit of happiness that a sweet baby girl can bring...let's just hope she grows up to be nothing like Aunt Ashley, K? K.

Anyhoodle, I put together an ABC piece back in the fall and completely forgot about it!  It's pink, girly and has the sweetest little owl at the top:

Loving that grey-ish pink on the x, w, p, etc.

Emma Grace

Before Christmas, the bestie asked if I would create an ABC piece for her sister in law.  Apparently she had been making some not so subtle hints that she loved the one in Eli's room and would love to have one for sweet baby Emma Grace.  Of course I jumped at the chance...it's not that often that I get to do girly pieces and I love that whole family as if they were my own.

All that to say, the bestie isn't all that crafty.  Numbers and facts...she's down.  Asking her to elaborate on the kind of pink or green she'd like to see?  She gets all wild-eyed and twitchy.  Instead, she found EG's bedding online and sent me the link.  I pulled the colors directly from the screen shot and traced the birds and flowers too.  The result was super feminine, a little whimsical and just plain adorable:

Sweet Baby Everett

Thanks to a referral from her cousin Jess, I got to do an ABC piece for Jenna's boyfriend's sister's new baby boy (get all that? good!).  His name is Everett and it was just too much fun.  The color combos (loving that grey/blue on E, K, P, etc) with all the fixins'...I'm in lurve.  Check, check it out:

Don't you just love the name?  Everett James

Millie

As a project for the BSFAM, I got to do an ABC piece for one of her dearest friends Catherine...well really for Catherine's sweet baby girl Millie.  I can't even talk about how adorable Catherine, her husband Brent and sweet baby Millie are...I mean honestly:

Anyhoodle, BSFAM (Katie), requested some combination of a sage-y green and pink since those were to be Millie's "signature culas" (10 pts if you name that movie).  We did just that and added some flair to represent the couples shared love of running, a family history with State Farm, ties to UGA and Ohio as well as their sweet pupper (the letter M).

As always, thanks to BSFAM for letting me be a part of this piece!

Jessica

After seeing Hank's nursery photos on Facebook, my old college buddy (and sorority sister) Jessica requested an ABC piece for her son Liam as well as her niece Bailey.

I mean seriously? How cute are they?!

You can read more about Jessica's exciting adventures on her blog, but basically her and her husband are being super glamourous and living overseas for a while.  That, along with Jessica's already chic sense of style, led us to some seriously cool color choices as well as the most unique "fill-ins" I've done to date.

Notice the "N"?!

And Bailey's?  SO fun!  It was only the second "girl" piece I had done and it was SO much fun...pink, ladybugs, and some more pink...what more could a girl want?!

Check out that lady bug and the "itsy bitsy spider" had eyelashes and lips...I die!

Of course you always want your work to be well received...and sure enough, Jessica's mom even wanted a copy to hang in the nursery at her house!!  Such a cute idea for the grandparents.

Thanks again for letting me do these projects, Jess!  They were a blast!
